Photo 2 Final

Artist Statement

I came up with ideas based upon the promt I chose. After choosing one, I had brainstormed ideas on possible pictures and locations to take the pictures. I never could define my final product until I had developed the film. Otherwise I was just taking pictures that I felt were beautifull and accomplished the task at hand. I tended to find inspiration through object that I felt were timeless in film photography. Like for example, creating a photo that one wouldnt be certain of the time period it was developed in. I found those pieces to be the most unique and beautifull. My ideas had evolved this semester from taking pictures of nature, to fully developing my own artistic style of photograpghy. I had went from nature to big city scenes and cute pastries.

Some tools I used in order to make my ideas occur was the people around me. I would ask them if they knew about certain locations that would fit my promt. Often time they did have a suggestion. I managed to translate my ideas into actual works of art through moving around when on scene to find an object or angle that had best suited my taste and the image I held in my head. I believe I had grown as an artist my finally developing my style of film photograpghy. It only took me two semesters.

I would say that I work could inform my viewers that I am adenturous and a foodie. After all, nearly all my pictures were on scene in the city or inside a specialy food store like Dean and Deluca. I had developed my creative voice through managing to capture more colorfull shades in film photgraphy. I had strived to create photos that had a very nice variations of blacks, grays, and whites.
